Age 85, of Hilton Dr., Horseheads, NY, died Sunday, April 6, 2008, at home.
Pearl was born on December 13, 1922 in Elmira, daughter of the late James and
Bessie (Crandall) Farnham. Pearl retired from NYS Chemung County Correctional
Credit Union as treasurer-manager. She also worked for Ward LaFrance in Elmira
Heights for many years, along with being a realtor for Alberta Blanchard
Real-Estate in Horseheads. She was a longtime council member for the Chemung
County Republican Party. Pearl loved spending time with her family and will be
greatly missed. Survivors include her daughters, Linda (Glenn) Pulleyn, and
Deborah (Edwin) Knapp, both of Horseheads, NY; grandchildren, Kenneth (Tina)
Pulleyn, Kimberly (Steve) Miller, Tracy (Matt) Voorhees, Heather (Dylan)Bruntil;
great-grandchildren, Brittany and Nikki Miller, April, Kelsey and Caitlyn
Pulleyn, Jacob and Matthew Voorhees, Colby Bruntil; sisters, Arlene Aderhold
and Rosemary Gilson; several nieces and nephews. Pearl was predeceased by her
husband, Charles Radney in 2002. It was Pearl's request that there be no
calling hours. Interment with private services will take place in Forest Lawn

Age 75 of Wellsburg, and formerly a longtime resident of Beacon, NY, died
after a brief illness Sunday, March 7, 2010. He was born July 24, 1934 in
Elmira, NY, the son of the late John and Mabel (McAfee) Farwell. He is survived
by his children, Mitch Farwell of Norwich, NY, Christina (Greg) Gross of
Fishkill, NY, Kimberly (Scott) King of Coldspring, NY, Michelle (Michael)
Quigley of Newburgh, NY, Kellee Farwell also of Newburgh, NY, Glade Farwell of
Washingtonville, NY, Lyle (Terri) Farwell Jr., of Clarksville, TN and Clay
Farwell also of Newburgh, NY; former spouse, Joanne Chalk Farwell of Newburgh,
NY; many grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; sister, Irma Rodabaugh of
Horseheads, NY; brothers, Robert (Phyllis) Farwell of Pine City, NY, Dale
(Marty) Farwell of South Carolina, Gary Farwell of Horseheads, NY; several
nieces and nephews; special friend, Theresa. Lyle was a retired Lieutenant with
the NYS Department of Corrections in Fishkill. He was an avid animal lover,
loved fishing and above all was a devoted NASCAR and Jeff Gordon fan. Family

FECICH –JULIA F. ELDRED age 91 and longtime resident of Vinel Circle in Horseheads passed away Friday, February 10, 2017, at Elcor Health Center after years of declining health. Julia was born May 18, 1925, to Theodore and Maria (Mysnyk) Fecich. She was predeceased by her husband, Leo "Dutch" Eldred, December 19, 1985. Her surviving family includes her daughter and sons, Bonnie (Joe) Hanrahan of Horseheads, David Eldred of Horseheads, Edward (Marie) Eldred of Egg Harbour Twp, NJ; grandchildren, Michaelene Maximiek, Christopher Martin and Sandy Eldred and Philip Eldred; great grandsons, Alex Maximiek and Jacob Martin; sisters, Helen Gilkey and Sophie Conklin both of Horseheads; several nieces, nephew; and special, god-daughter, Debbie Gilkey; and many other extended family members and friends. She was also predeceased by her siblings, Alec and John Fecich and Anna Stetz, and Mary Crowley. She was a member of Catholic War Vets and a devoted homemaker, loving mom, nana, great nana, aunt and godmother. Services at the Barber Funeral Home took place privately with burial in Forest Lawn Memorial Park beside her husband. FERRIS - LATTERELL, Crystal P. (Ferris)
Of Stacia Drive, died peacefully on Monday, October 1, 2007, at Elcor Health
Services, Horseheads, NY, at the age of 87. "Chris," as she was
affectionately known, was preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles F.
"Chuck" Latterell, November 18, 2001. Her parents; brother, Cecil
Ferris; daughter, Jane Sorrells; brother-in-law, Richard (Mary) Latterell;
sisters-in-law, Mary Latterell, Eleanor (Carmen) Dean, also predeceased her. She
is survived by her son, Thomas (Marty) Hopkins of Louisville, KY;
brother-in-law, Ernest "Bucky" (Eleanor) Latterell of Elmira, NY;
along with five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, numerous nieces,
nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. For several years, Crystal was a
dedicated employee of Remington Rand. She volunteered with the Southport Fire
Department Ladies Auxiliary for many years. Her greatest joy came from
gardening and planting flowers all around her home. Crystal was an Avon Representative
for 15+ years and was the recipient of many prestigious awards. Family and

FIELD Lynn T., Sr.
Age 77, formerly of Elmira, NY. He was born February 18, 1930 in Elmira, son of
the late Arthur D., Sr. and Evelyn (Taylor) Field and died Thursday, February
7, 2008, at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. He was predeceased by his parents;
brothers and sisters, Arthur, Jr., Carl, Paul, Dorothy, Evelyn and MaryLou;
grandson, Christopher. Lynn is survived by his loving wife if 55 years,
Frances: two sons, Lynn T. Field, Jr. and wife, Lisa of Corning, Craig M. Field
and wife, Debbie of Horseheads; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren;
sister, Eva Pickett of Jamestown, NY; along with several nieces, nephews and
cousins. Lynn served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He
retired from the City of Elmira where he worked as an Engineering Department
Supervisor for 35 years. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent
Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira, on Saturday, February
16th from 2 to 4 p.m. His funeral and committal services will follow at 4 p.m.

Age 27 of Elmira, NY died unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 22, 2011. Rod was born September 15, 1983 in Elmira, NY, a son of Lynn Field Jr. and Kimberley Elks. He worked security for Corning Community College at the Elmira Campus and The Sand Dollar in Elmira and recently was hired by Coca-Cola in Horseheads. Rod also attended CCC and was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Horseheads. Rod is survived by his parents, Kimberley (Joshua) Elks of Millerton, Pa and Elmira, NY and father Lynn (Lisa) Field of Corning, NY; siblings Lynn T. Field III of Bismarck, ND, Carrie E. Field of Elmira, NY, Paul G. Field of Lafayette, NY, and Matt Clark of Corning, NY; nieces and nephews, Johnny, Natalie, and Mackenzie; paternal grandmother, Frances Field of Horseheads, NY; maternal grandparents, Dorothy West of Corning, NY and Richard West Sr. of Tyrone, NY; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins, and a host of friends. He is pre-deceased by his infant brother, Christopher P. Field, grandfather Lynn T. Field Sr., and Uncle Ricky. She was a member of Center Grove Baptist Church in Meridan, MS. Cleone was preceded in death by her husband, Marcus (Mike) Buchanan and her brother, Jack Fields. Of Riverside Ave.- Was born February 8, 1915 in Monroe Township, PA, the
daughter of the late Minor and Mae (Carr) Vanderpool, died
on Monday, March 1, 2010, at the Berwick Hospital Center in Berwick, PA. Her
beloved husband, Raymond Leslie Fields, preceded her in death in 2005. Her son,
Kenneth W. Belcher; daughter, Donna A. Smith; brothers, Ralph, Sheldon, Donald,
and Clifford Vanderpool also predeceased her. She is survived by her daughter,
Joyce Fiore of Elmira Heights, NY; stepdaughters, Shirley (David) Kelly of
Endicott, NY, Janice (Tom) Mitteer of Johnson City, NY; stepsons, James (Nancy)
Fields of Apalachin, NY, Roy Fields, also of Apalachin, NY, Joseph Fields of
Endicott, NY; along with several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and
great-great-grandchildren. Pauline was a life member of the Women of the Moose
Montour Falls Chapter, a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary in
Elmira Heights, NY and the Eagles Auxiliary in Elmira. She retired from Trayer
Products, Inc. after several years of dedicated service as a machine operator.

FIELDS Raymond L. WWII Veteran Age 86, died on July 30, 2005 after a courageous battle with cancer, in the Bath VA Medical Center, Bath, NY. He is survived by his wife, Pauline Carr Fields of Elmira, NY; daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and David Kelly of Vestal, NY; son and daughter-in-law, James and Nancy Fields of Apalachin, NY; daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Tom Mitteer of Johnson City, NY; sons, Roy Fields of Baltimore, MD, Joseph Fields of Endicott, NY; stepdaughter, Joyce Fiore of Elmira, NY; sister, Sylvia Buckland of Vestal, NY; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Raymond served in the Army during WWII achieving the rank of Sergeant. He worked as a mechanic for many years at Shafer's Garage in Johnson City, NY. He then owned and operated Ray's Garage in Endicott and Johnson City. Ray was retired from business and idle only a short time before going to work for American LaFrance in Elmira building fire trucks and delivering them all over the country. In recent years, he worked for Koch Chrysler-Dodge, Clute & Ferrario Ford as a courtesy driver and parts delivery. Ray enjoyed auto racing. He built and raced stock cars at local tracks earlier in his career, and later in life enjoyed NASCAR racing. He enjoyed boating and spent a number of years motoring around Cayuga Lake. Ray was a member of the American Legion Harry B. Bentley Post #0443, VFW of Johnson City #2332, Elks, and a lifetime member since 1940, of the Loyal Order of Moose #426. He held many positions in the Moose leading to the honorific Pilgrim Degree of Merit. Ray had many friends in the community and his fraternal clubs. He was appreciated and loved by everyone he encountered. He will be missed by all. Family and friends are invited to call at Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Ave., Elmira on Monday, August 1, 2005 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. with funeral held there on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m.; followed by committal in Forest Lawn Memorial Park with full Military Honors. –ANNABELLE MAE (FIFE) THOMAS, 97, formerly of Elmira, NY died Tuesday,
August 2, 2016 at the West Shore Health Center in Warwick. Born in
Crandletown, PA, a daughter of the late Walter and Bertha (Dean) Fife, she
was the beloved wife of the late Ralph E. Thomas Sr. She worked as a sales
clerk for Nichols Discount in Elmira Heights, NY. She was a lifelong member
of The Salvation Army of Elmira until her move to Rhode Island in 2006. Mrs.
Thomas will be remembered as a woman who loved her Lord Jesus Christ and her
family. She enjoyed traveling and visiting her family in various parts of
the country. She is survived by four children: Ralph E. Thomas, Jr., Robert
F. Thomas, Shirley M. Landmesser and Donald E. Thomas; eleven grandchildren;
nineteen great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. She was
predeceased by her son Walter Thomas; her sister Gloria Dove and her
brothers: Alfred, Raymond & Earl Fife. Her funeral service will be held on
Monday, August 8 at 10:00 am at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home & Crematory,
659 East Greenwich Avenue, West Warwick. Relatives and friends are invited.
Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Monday prior to the
service from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM

Age 43 of Pine City, NY. He was born September 5, 1969 in Elmira, the son of Dannie Sr. and Constance (Spencer) Fish and died Monday, August 5, 2013 at Strong Memorial Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Michele (Seymour) Fish; children Gregory and Autumn Fish, Geoffrey, Jared and Jesse Fish; grandchildren Alexander Gublo and Gregory Fish, Jr.; parents Dannie Sr. and Constance Fish all of Elmira; brother and sister-in-law Timothy and Paula Fish of Horseheads; 1 niece, 4 nephews, 2 great nephews; mother-in-law Jane Seymour of Elmira; father-in-law Jack Seymour of Pine City; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Melissa and Robert Heuser, Dawn and Steve Mallacoccio all of Elmira. Dan was employed with F.M. Howell for 21 years. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army; was an avid sportsman, NASCAR and Oakland Raiders fan; was a member of the B.P.O.E. #62 Elmira ; was an accomplished bowler having achieved Elmira Bowling Assoc. Wellsburg, age 67, passed away unexpectedly on Thurs. Apr. 23, 2020
at home. Born on June 11, 1952 in Towanda, PA, daughter of the late, Robert
& Cora Casselbury Fish. Helen retired after many years of service from Motor
Components, Horseheads. Devoted to her family, Helen enjoyed Bingo, casinos,
crossword puzzles, knitting, and was a second mom to many. She is survived
by her loving daughter, Vicky (Paul) Woodlee; Fort Worth, TX; her granddog,
D.J.; siblings, Dannie (Constance) Fish, Lester Fish, Betty Hoyt, Charles
Fish and Linda Bennett; sister-in-law, Daline Casselbury; aunt, Dorothy
Casselbury; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Helen
was predeceased by a brother, Robert Fish; a sister, Julia Fish;
sister-in-law, Pam Fish; aunts, Gertrude Hitchcock, Rosie Shaffer; and

FISH Julia K.
A longtime resident of 125 Lewis St. Horseheads died at the Arnot-Ogden Medical
Center on Monday, May 17, 2010 at the age of 62. Born on September 10, 1947 in
Elmira, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Cora Casselbury Fish. She
enjoyed being a part of a large and loving family. Her interests included
shopping, jigsaw puzzles and caring for her two parakeets, "Linus &
Peanuts". Surviving are her loving siblings and their families, Dannie and
Constance Fish, Lester Fish, Betty Hoyt, Helen Fish, Charles Fish and Linda Bennett;
sister-in-law, Pam Fish; aunt's Gertrude Hitchcock, Dalina Casselbury and Rosie
Shaffer; uncle, Francis and Dorothy Casselbury; many nieces and nephews
including her special niece, Victoria Woodlee. In addition to her parents,
Julia was also predeceased by her companion of nearly 40 years, Leon Hills;
brother, Robert Fish and brother-in-law, Robert Hoyt. Family and friends will

Age 63 of S. Broadway, Wellsburg, NY, died peacefully Thursday morning at ELCOR
Health Services. He was born August 23, 1944 in Elmira, NY, son of the late
Robert and Cora Casselberry Fish. Bob was employed as a punch press operator at
Upstate Tool Company and later at Thomas & Betts. He enjoyed bowling,
camping and fishing. Survivors include his wife, Pamela Fish of Elmira; sons,
Robert (Danielle) Pedrick, Michael Fish and Joshua Fish, all of Elmira;
daughters, Carolyn (Anthony Buelow) Fish and Belinda Fish of Elmira; brothers,

Michael was born in Elmira on March 6, 1959, the son of Alice M. and the late Jerome A. Fitzpatrick. In addition to being survived by his mother, he was the loving father of three sons, and devoted grandfather of two granddaughters…Michael R. with wife Karen and daughter Annabelle, of Odessa; Joshua E., with daughter Azlynn, of Horseheads; and Casey J., of Horseheads. Michael is also survived by his sisters and brothers-in-law, Theresa and Christopher Lundberg of Horseheads with their children, Sara and Jeremy; Kelly and Richard Andreine of Santa Clara CA with their daughter Katheryn; brother and sister-in-law, Sean and Joe Anna Fitzpatrick of Cadyville NY; the mother of his children, and lifelong friend, Irene M. Fitzpatrick; along with several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. Michael served his country in the United States Navy. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Michael enjoyed spending time with family and friends at his place on Seneca Lake. Michael was employed at St. Joseph's Hospital and even though he had only been there a short time, his family would like to give a special thank you to all the employees there who made such a difference in his life. Alda Halsey Fitzwater. He passed away on Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at Meadow
View Nursing Facility from complications from surgery that he had in

2016 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center in Elmira, NY. John was born in
Elmira on May 23, 1948, son of the late Frederick Sr. and Agnes Fletcher
DeZutter. John served in the US Army during theVietnam War. He was presently
working for the City of Elmira as a school crossing guard. He loved his

Kenneth H. Kennedy Valve Retiree Age 85 of Woodbine Ave. Elmira, NY died
peacefully on Wednesday, November 28, 2001 at the Chemung County Nursing
Facility. He was born June 26, 1916 in Waterville, Maine the son of the late
Charles and Mary (Williams) Fletcher. He is survived by his loving wife, Rose;
children, Nancy (Chris) Hansen of Rutland VT; Edward (Irene) Fletcher of Las
Vegas, NV; Janet (John) Haflett of Calhoun, GA; step-children, Raymond (Lois)
Ingham of Endicott, NY; Phyllis Hatfield of Horseheads, NY; Rose (Rick)
Graffius of Punxsutawney, PA; James (Maureen) Ingham Lewiston, NY; along with
several grandchildren and great grandchildren. In his earlier years, Kenneth
was employed by the Kennedy Space Center as an electrician. After re-locating
to the Elmira area he worked until his retirement with Kennedy Valve as an
electrician as well. He was a member of the American Legion Clarence Oliver
Post # 154 Elmira Heights, NY. In his spare time Kenneth enjoyed working with
wood. Some of his most favorite things to create were shelves, cupboards,

Age 91, of Horseheads, NY, died peacefully on Tuesday, December 03, 2013 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center in Elmira. Erna was born on March 5, 1922 in Ithaca, NY, daughter of the late Leon and Jerusha (Baker) Forrest. Erna spent many years as a foster mother for over 200 children in the Elmira area. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and will be missed dearly by those that knew her. Ogden Medical Center at the age of 81. Her beloved husband, Eldon Hughes along
with her brothers, Owen and Gene "Steve" Foster preceded her in

accomplishment. Maggie was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in New

Was born November 28, 1931 in Elmira the son of the late Francis and Florence
(Brown) French, went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at

preceded him in death June 15, 2001 after several years of love and life

Square. He was born in Canton, Ohio, and served with the Civil Air Patrol
during WWII. He retired from Continental Casualty Insurance Company as an
insurance sales person. He was a member of the Millionaires Club for sales
executives with Continental. Mr. Gardner was a communicant of St. Matthew's
Church and a member of the East Syracuse Moose Lodge. He was predeceased by his
first wife, Ada; his second wife, Barbara Featherstone; a daughter, Donna Faye;
and his brother, Norman. He is survived by his sons, Donald of Gurnee, IL, and

Center. She was born Nov. 15, 1931 in Everett, MA, the daughter to the late
Henry and Etta (Major) Garrett. She was predeceased by her brothers, Earl and
Thomas Garrett; and sisters, Murial, Pat and Dorathea. She is survived by her

at the Tioga Nursing Facility. She was born August 22, 1916 in Lockwood, New
York, the daughter of the late Rose Harford and Ward Gillette, and wife of the
late James Merkes. Cora was also predeceased by her three brothers, Carl, Leon
and Hugh Gillette; and two sisters-in-law, Katherine Gillette and Betty
Northrup. Cora worked as a department head at W.T. Grants in Horseheads, NY,
and as a homemaker. She is survived by her sister, Ruth Mott, Owego, NY; her

Middlebury Center, PA, and Lawrence M. Goodrich of Littleton, CO. He is also
survived by his loving companion, Sharon Thompson of Montour Falls, NY, and her
children, Shannon (Greg) Belanger of Elmira, NY, Shane Ricci of Rochester, NY,
and Adam Just of Montour Falls, NY; and special friends, Sandy and Gene Kinney;
along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his father,
Earl Goodrich; grandson, Dustin; and stepfather, Amos Hall. Floyd was very
active in the New York State Fireman's Association. He served as Chief of the
Odessa Fire Department for 5 years. Floyd served two years in the U.S. Army and
served in Vietnam. He was also a member of the Odessa American Legion.

GOODSELL - Campbell, Dorothy
A longtime resident of the Westside community died, Friday morning, May 16,
2008 at her home in the loving care of her family and Southern Tier
Hospice. At her side were her two daughters, Fern Leopold, Elmira; and
Anne Turner, Moore Haven, FL; and her daughter-in-law, Barbara Campbell,
Savona.
Also surviving are her sons-in-law, William Leopold and Dale Turner; four
grandchildren, John (Liz) Campbell, Sterling, VA; Brian (Christy) Campbell,
Clermont, FL; David (Susan) Campbell, Salem, MA; and Carrie Leopold, Elmira;
four great grandchildren, Jack, Ellie and Nicholas Campbell and Kaylee Leopold
along with nieces, nephews and Dorothy's church family at Westside United
Methodist Church where she attended for many years. Predeceasing
her were her parents, Fred & Fern Brooks Goodsell; her loving husband of 43
years, Wesley J. Campbell; a cherished son, John Campbell; three sisters, Julia
(Julian "Dude") Stocking, Adele (Bruce) Jefferds, Winifred (Charles
Eugene) Davis and a brother, William Goodsell. Remembered by her smile, Dorothy
was a warm and caring person. She enjoyed gardening, reading and watching the
NY Mets. Dorothy was employed by J.C. Penny for many years in the fabric
department first in the original location in downtown and later at the Mall.
Very important to her were the many lives she influenced through the Girl
Scouts where she was very active. Dorothy always provided a wonderful home for

Age 81, formerly a resident of 550 E. Church St., Elmira, died on Tuesday,
August 19, 2008, at the Chemung County Nursing Facility, where he resided since
May. He was born on December 16, 1926 in Roaring Branch, PA, only son of the
late William and Emma Jane (Eden) Gosline Sr. Bill was predeceased by his
sisters, Sarah Quinn, Lillian Overacker, Winifred June, Barbara McNutt; and
niece, Debra June. He is survived by his sister, Emma Jane (Robert) Tuttle of
Austin, TX; brother-in-law, William Overacker of Horseheads; along with several
nieces and nephews and grandnieces and nephews. Bill graduated from Southside
High School in 1944 and was a veteran of the US Navy from 1944 to 1946. He was
employed as an administrative assistant in the office of the psychiatrist at
the Elmira Correctional Facility and was a member of Christ United Methodist
Church. Bill will be remembered as a faithful volunteer of many hours at St.
Joseph's Hospital until his declining health forced him to discontinue. Family
and friends are invited to call on Sunday, August 24th from 1 to 2 p.m. at the

GOWAN –FERN ARDIS HARDENSTINE. A long time resident of Elmira's Southside, died peacefully in the care of her family, friends and hospice at her home on Saturday morning, February 2, 2002 at the age of 86. Born on May 27, 1915 in Evergreen, PA Ardis was the daughter of Charles and Maude Robinson Gowan. She married Paul Hardenstine on April 17, 1942. Ardis was a retired schoolteacher having taught in the Elmira City School System for over 24 years until her retirement in 1973. Her earliest days of teaching were in a one room school house in New Era, PA. Ardis was a member of the New York State Retired Teachers Association. She was a long time member of the Fassett Baptist Church in Fassett, PA. Ardis also taught Sunday School and was active in many local Bible School Classes. Much enjoyment was found at her home, flower gardening, baking, and making crafts. Always a witness, she was happy to serve the Lord. Surviving is her loving husband and friend of 59 years, Paul Hardenstine, her daughter and son-in-law, Arleah and Elwin Fitch of Tucson, AZ; her son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Shirley Hardenstine of Athens, PA; grandchildren, David Fitch, Paul Nicholas Hardenstine (Shelley Heerey) and Tammy Lou Benefield; great grandchildren, Jordan, Aaron and Bryan Benefield, Chelsie Hardenstine, Caitlin, Joshua and Rachel Heerey; sisters, Coral "Polly" Ward of Hayward, CA; and Mary Ellen (Richard) Williams of Wyalusing, PA; several nieces and nephews. Age 83, of 376 Lattabrook Rd., Horseheads, NY. She was born September 12, 1925
in Durell, PA, daughter of the late Leonard, Sr. and Sadie (Vargason) Gowin,
and died Wednesday, November 26, 2008, at Kindred Hospital, Wilkes-Barre, PA
after a brief illness. She was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Albert
H. Bricka on January 29, 2008; brothers, Leonard, Jr., Ronald, Donald and
Albert; and sister, Louise Kasson. Arlie is survived by her children, Jack
Bricka and Carol Collins of Horseheads, Albert (Lorraine) Bricka of Elmira,
Constance (John) Mathews of Syracuse, NY and Dale Bricka of Horseheads; seven
grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews.
Arlie was a former stock car racer at Chemung Speedrome. She was a member of
the Atlantic Women's Racing Assoc., volunteered in the community patterning
autistic children, was an avid race fan, seamstress, gardener and a great cook.

GLOSENGER Kimberly Jo Glosenger
age 40, of Binghamton, N.Y., born March 13, 1973 in Sayre to Steven V. and Susan C. (Hugg) Glosenger, died on Monday, Nov. 4, 2013 after fighting a courageous battle with diabetes. Prior to spending her last days at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton, she was so pleased to be able to be at her home with her cat, "Yahtzee." She is survived by: her loving mother, Sue (Hugg) Glosenger of Binghamton; beloved brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Meghan Glosenger of Albany, N.Y.; maternal grandparents, Gladys and Thomas McLean; paternal grandparents, Marion and A. Carl Glosenger; best friend, Patty Searles of Waverly, N.Y.; godsons, Jeremy Jr. and Mahkya Searles; along with several aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous friends. Kimberly was a faithful member of the Faith Tabernacle Church, graduated from Faith Tabernacle and was a 1991 graduate of the Faith Tabernacle School. She was a M.O.P.S. teacher, as well as a candy striper, at both St. Joseph's Hospital and the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Kimberly loved to bake and cook and took wonderful care of her former cats, "Butterscotch," "Puff" and "Pepper." GRANGER – Lois Kelsey, formerly of Flannery
Towers, died peacefully at her son’s home in Elmira Heights while under the
loving care of her family and Southern Tier Hospice on Saturday morning,
October 2, 2004. Born on June 22, 1937, her in Elmira, Lois was the daughter of
Edwin C. and Ruth Liddy Granger. She was married to Robert Kelsey Sr. and he
predeceased her in 2003. Lois was a homemaker who enjoyed camping, playing
Bingo, and caring for her own children as well as those she cared for in the
“Fresh Air fund” for many years. Surviving are her children, sherry and Michael
Insogna of Elmira, Robert E. Kelsey Jr. of Elmira and his girlfriend, Annette
Romeo, and Joseph Kelsey of Elmira Heights; her daughter-in-law, Tina
Columbine; sisters, Barbara Greg, Janet Mattison, and Mary Ann Elliott; several
grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Also surviving is her
friend and loving companion, Robert Costley, and a caring friend, Karen Newton.

Of Elmira Heights - Was born August 23, 1936 in Elmira,
NY, the daughter of the late Walter C. and Eva (McNeil) Granger, died on Sunday,
August 26, 2012, at the AOMC with her family at her side. Her husband, John R.
LaMent Jr.; daughter, Cynthia LaMent; granddaughters, Jennifer and Amy LaMent;
great-grandson, Nathaniel Stephens; daughter-in-law, Margie (Jackson) LaMent;
stepfather, Ray Kline Sr., all predeceased her. She is survived by her loving
children, John LaMent, Debbie LaMent, Phyllis (Bruce) Stephens, Darlene LaMent
(Donna Hitchcock) and Judy (Rickey) Paul; brothers, Thomas (Sue) Granger, Ray
Kline Jr. and Donald (Diana) Kline; special aunt, Olive Kline; brother-in-law,
Stephen LaMent; along with 14 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, several
nieces and nephews, many friends and her canine companion, "Teddy".
Rose was a dedicated bus driver for the Horseheads School District for many
years. She was a member of the Eastern Star, the Golden Glow Volunteer Fire
Department Ladies Auxiliary and was a member of the Big Flats American Legion.
Rose enjoyed bowling, bingo and watching the New York Mets. Most important to
Rose was her family, especially her grandkids. Family and friends are invited

August 31, 2012, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Funeral services honoring her life will

Age 69, of 508 Pennsylvania Ave., Elmira, NY. She was born January 13, 1938 in
Elmira, daughter of the late John E. and Leah (Ames) Granger, and died Friday,

survived by her husband, Frank Charles Bauman; children, Connie (Terrence)
Cogswell of Wellsburg, Dean (Teresa) Bauman of Millport, and Matthew (Pam)

Age 61, of Elmira, died at his home, with his family by his side, on Saturday, November
24, 2007. Ron was born December 25, 1945 in Cambridge, MA, a son of the late
Orden C. and Wanda Sleginski Grassette. In addition to his parents he is
predeceased by his sister, Marcia Grassette, mother-in-law, Margaret Cruthers,
and granddaughter, Madeline Ames. Ron is survived by his loving wife of 36
years, Carolyn Cruthers Grassette; daughters and sons-in-law, Jenifer J. and
Lance Ames, Robyn R. and Joshua Bennett, all of Elmira; granddaughters, Taylor
Ames, Ella and Emilyn Bennett; brothers and sisters-in-law, Orden and Althea
Grassette of Sevierville, TN, Robert and Joanne Grassette of Stewartstown, NH;
father-in-law, Melvin Cruthers of Newbury, OH, with his wife Bell;
step-brother-in-law, William Spencer of Middlefield, OH, with his wife Diane;
along with several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Grizzly Ron
played semi-pro basketball for a Greek team in Cambridge, MA. He served in
Vietnam from 1969 – 1970 with the 101st Airborne Division. Ron was a radio
teletype operator and a helicopter machine gun operator. Ron earned a Bronze
Star for his service in Vietnam. He was a retail sales manager for Woolworth's
in Richmond Hill, Queens and later for Rockbottom on Long Island. Moving to
Elmira he became assistant manager of Pudgie's Northside. His last place of
employment was at F.M. Howell. Being born and raised in Massachusetts, Grizzly
Ron was an avid Red Sox, Celtic and New England Patriot fan. He was an avid
sportsman, enjoyed fishing and looked forward to his Tuesday and Wednesday night

Age 74, of Athens, PA, died Friday, November 23, 2007, at his home surrounded
by his family. Jack was born August 18, 1933 in Elmira, New York, the son of
the late Margaret Dates and Lehman Gray. Mr. Gray was a veteran of the United
States Navy. He retired from Thatcher Glass after 18 years of service there.
His greatest joy was his family and especially spending time with grandson,
Christopher. He is survived by his daughter, Peggy Gray-Mitchell of Athens, PA;

Inez M. nee: Gunderman Age 85, formerly of Jerusalem Hill Rd., died Tuesday,
September 13, 2005, at the Chemung County Nursing Facility. She is survived by
her children, sons, Donald (Judy) Barchet, Annville, PA, Douglas (Sylvia)
Barchet, Wellsburg, NY; daughters, Joyce (Gene) Stow, Horseheads, and Janice
Heeman of Elmira; nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; sisters, Lois
Drake, Lowman, Dorothy Semko, Las Vegas, NV, Joan Roman, Elmira; brother,
Harold Gunderman, Elmira; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was
predeceased by her husband, Kenneth. She enjoyed spending time with her family,
square dancing, and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Elmira. The

Wednesday, December 17, 2014. Survived by his wife of 59 1/2 years, Loretta;

with their children, Cash and Brette; grandchildren, Taylor Gunderman & Hali
Gunderman; sister, Joan Roman; sister-in-law, Glenora Gunderman; several
nieces, nephews and cousins; predeceased by parents, Jennie and Earl
Gunderman; sisters, Inez, Lois, Betty, Dorothy; brothers, Harry, Charles,
Glenn, Ronald, John, Guy. Harold retired as Deputy Highway Superintendent
for the Town of Elmira, a founding and life member of East Hill VFD, and a
member of the North Chemung United Methodist Church. Harold adored his
family, and their family gatherings. His grandchildren were the apple of his

GUNDERMAN - DRAKE, Lois J. "Nan"
Devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and
friend. Age 86 and long time resident of North Chemung, died on Tuesday,
May 29, 2007. She was born in the Town of Baldwin, on March 12, 1921 to the
late Earl and Jennie (Elston) Gunderman. She was predeceased by her husband,
Charles Drake in 1983; and is survived by her daughters, Shirley Weiland of
North Chemung, NY, Betty (Charles) Thomas of Scottsboro, AL; grandchildren,
Laurie (Rick Gibson) Bowman of Woodville, AL, Elizabeth "Betsy"
Bowman of Elmira, NY, Shelly (Dave Oldroyd) Weiland of Corning, NY, Scott
Weiland of North Chemung, NY; great-grandchildren, Jennifer and Elizabeth
Brand, Matthew and Meghan McGonigal, Olivia Kreydatus and Brandon Weiland;
great-great-grandchildren, Anthony Brand and Hanna Cronk; brother and sister,
Harold (Loretta) Gunderman of Elmira, NY, Joan Roman of Elmira, NY; and several
nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was also predeceased by her
brothers, Charles, Guy, Earl, Ronald, Glenn, and John Gunderman; sisters, Betty
Brown, Dorothy Semko, and Inez Barchet. She was a past member of the Order of
Eastern Star, Breesport, Southern Light Chapter O.E.S. Lois also enjoyed
reading, painting, playing cards, quilting, and crafting. She enjoyed cooking
and baking and above all else she loved the time spent with her family. Family
and friends are invited to call at the Barber Funeral Home, 413 So. Main St.,
Horseheads, on Friday, June 1, 2007, from 4-7:00 p.m. Her service will take
place at the funeral home on Sat., June 2, 2007, at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev.
Anne Mowery officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. In
addition to flowers, those wishing to express their sympathy may also do so
with memorials to Southern Tier Hospice, 11751 East Corning Rd., Corning, NY
14830.
GUNTHER -HANNELORE AVERY age 85, formerly of
Cayuta, NY. Hannelore passed away on Wednesday May 6, 2020 at the MM Ewing
Continuing Care Center in Geneva, NY. She was born in Wolfstein, Germany to
the late Jacob and Anna (Eyer) Gunther. In addition to her parents she was
predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Llewellyn in 2016, and daughters
Debbie in 1963 and Karen in 1977; along with siblings Siegfreid and Lothar.
Hannelore is survived by her loving daughter Susan (James) Mizerak of
Farmington, NY; grandchildren Michelle (Paul) Gimelburg, Beth (John)
Grzeskowiak, and Melissa Mizerak; great grandchildren Aiya, Marty, and Zoey
Gimelberg, and Hunter and Anna Grzeskowiak. Hannelore was a homemaker and an
exceptional cook and baker. She enjoyed gardening. Her family was very
precious to her; she was a very loving mother, 'Oma' and 'Ur' and (Great)
Oma. She will be greatly missed. Her family would like to extend a special
thanks to everyone at the MM Ewing for their compassion and excellent care
of Hannelore. Due to the present pandemic, there will be no services.
Private interment will be held in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Elmira, NY.

GURAL - SMITH, Frances
Age 94, of Jerusalem Hill Road, Elmira, NY. She was born December 2, 1914 in Elmira,
daughter of the late John and Mary (Konasiewicz) Gural and died Saturday,
August 15, 2009, at home. She was predeceased by her husband, John T. Smith, in
1965; son, Richard W. Smith in 2005; brothers, Joseph and John Gural and is
survived by her children, John G. Smith and Patricia Ann Rice, both of Elmira;
daughter-in-law, Gayle Smith of Horseheads; sister-in-law, Evelyn Gural of
Elmira; grandchildren, Kathleen (Thomas) Collins, Timothy Smith, Jeffrey Smith
and David (Lori) Rice; great-grandchildren, Alexis Collins and Jaedyn Dwyer.
Mrs. Smith was a communicant of Ss. Peter & Paul Church. Family and friends
are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington
Ave., Elmira on Tuesday, August 18th, from 12 to 2 p.m. Her funeral service
will be held at 2 p.m. Rev. Walter L. Wainwright will officiate. Interment will

STEVEN E. GUSTIN,
age 63 passed away peacefully at The Chemung County Nursing Facility on
Thursday, July 31, 2014. Steven was born January 29, 1951 in Honolulu,
Hawaii the son of Wayne Gustin and Christine Kimber Gustin. He grew up in
Elmira and graduated from E.F.A. in 1969. Steve was an accomplished athlete
and a member of the championship E.F.A. wrestling team which was a
powerhouse during that era. He also excelled at Alfred Tech, where he was
inducted into their Wrestling Hall of Fame. Steve then graduated from SUNY
Brockport and after serving his country overseas with The U. S. Army during
The Vietnam War, he earned his Master's Degree in Education. He held many
teaching positions including being the wrestling coach at Alfred Tech. Steve
then moved to Brussels, Belgium and Istanbul, Turkey where he established
his business as a College Placement Facilitator arranging entry into United
States Universities for European students. When his illness progressed, he
returned to this area to be closer to his loving mother, Christine Kimber,
and other family members. He was pre-deceased by his father Wayne and his
infant daughter Jennifer. Steve is survived by his loving mother Christine
Kimber; his son Keith Christopher Gustin and his fiance Molly Brown and
granddaughter Sadie Gustin who adored her "Papa Dog"; daughter: Erin
Capoccia; sister: Carol Gustin and fiance Terry Torrence; brothers: Keith
Alan Gustin and his wife Bonnie and Kenneth W. Gustin and his wife Arlene;
many nieces, nephews, cousins, and loyal friends including his life-long
friend Danny (Gilly) Gilbert. Relatives and friends are invited to attend
Steve's Gravesite Services on Monday August 4, 2014 at Forest Lawn Memorial
Park at 2 PM where Full Military Honors will be accorded Mr. Gustin.
