Joyce,
Over the past ten years I have been trying to find out about Silas
Gore, a 3x great Uncle on my Dad's side of the family. He was killed at
Gettysburg on July 2, 1863 in the Peach Orchard. I have placed queries
on your web sites for years trying to find info on him and his family.
Last weekend I was contacted by a woman who is a direct descendent of his
only child, Sarah Adella Gore Lent. She had a photo of Silas, and for the
first time in 10 years I got to set eyes on the face of a man I have only
up till now read (and dreamed) about. I have attached the photo for you
to see. He was one of the three brothers killed in the Civil War.
Without the use of your site I would never have found him, I thank
you so very much for such a wonderful tool for all of us to use!!!
Regards,
