Eagle Hotel
An ad in old newspaper (1850)
L B Morse would respectfully inform his friends, and the public generally,
that he has purchased the above named large and commodious house, formerly
owned by Col I N Pomeroy, has made extensive improvements and alterations,
so that for cleanliness and comfort the Eagle will not be excelled by any
house in the county.
His table will at all times be supplied with all the delicacies of the
season, together with the more substantial fare, and no pains will be spared
to make this house a comfortable home for travelers and boarders.
In his BAR will be found the most choice brands of Liquor and Cigars,
with a gentlemanly and attentive bar-tender, so that the traveler or citizen
may at all times be assured of prompt attention and good fare.
He would also state that his STABLE accommodiations have been so arranged
that the beast, a well as the man, shall be amply provided for, and the
traveler, while enjoying the comforts of the house, can rest assured that
his horse is "enjoying the same belessing' in his well-furnished barn.
By strict attention to business, and the comfort of his paatrons, L B Morse
hopes to merit and receive a fair portion of public patronage.
Troy, Nov 25, 1850.
