This button collection is partly from the Mudge family button box that Joyce played with in her childhood, but mostly from the remnants of the collection of Ruth Darmstadt of Painted Post. Ruth sold most of her massive collection a few years back. These remainders are part of our collection and part of the fascinating story of the not at all insignificant item the button. Functional as well as artistic, the button holds the world together.
The Button collection also includes Ruth's extensive library on buttons, including reference books, newsletters, etc. |
