Commemorative Plaques & Flagholders
Order of the Eastern Star See Also Free and Accepted Masons |
The Order of the Eastern Star is the women's organization affiliated with the Masons. Initially I found very few O.E.S. flagholders, but now I am finding a very great variety of them. They are full of a numerous symbols which vary marker to marker. |
This is a present day version of a flagholder | This tombstone engraved emblem is more commonly
found than flagholders |
This is an older version of a flagholder. I have found this
in several color variations including massively rusted. |
This one does not carry the OES intitials, but its
shape and insignia are the same. This version is very tiny compared to other OES and other flagholders in general. |
This example for Chapter 12 includes the Masonic
Square and compass at its center. |
This is a less fancy example of an O.E.S. flagholder.
I apologize for the "decoration." I had nothing with me to clean it off before photographing it. We all know "it" happens and "it" happens a LOT to flagholders and tombstones in the cemetery. Birds love the park like environment of the cemetery and live very healthy lives there. |
