Joyce's Search Tip - January 2008
Do You Know that you can search  the site by using the Partitioned search engine at the bottom of the Current What's New Page? Family pages are listed on the Family list but also on the individual Township pages in the Photo, Bible, and other sections.
Hi Joyce,

I love your website and I wanted to share with you a family photo that once belonged to my grandmother and was passed onto me.

This is a photo of James C. Vaughan (my g-g-grandfather) and his family, taken in front of his home, Vaughan Hill, Wyalusing, PA. in 1899.  Unfortunately, James passed away one year after this photo was taken.

Seated in the center is Elizabeth Gamble-Vaughan (she was from Bradford County) and to her left is James C. Vaughan; he's the one with the cane.  I don't know who the older woman is sitting in the wicker rocker.  To James' left, is my g-grandmother, Anna Charity McHenry-Vaughan, holding daughter Ruth (my grandmother was born in this house in 1912 where she grew up and went on to graduate from Wyalusing High School in 1929 at the age of 16!) Anna's husband, my g-grandfather, Joseph G. Vaughan is standing next to her.  He worked for the PA. railroad.  Standing next to Joseph is his sister, Charolette, and next to her is Uncle Richard "Dick" Vaughan (my father was named after him).  The gentleman standing directly behind the elderly lady in the rocker is Joseph's other brother, Ralph Vaughan with his wife standing next to him--she had the white blouse on, and next to her is Sarah Vaughan, sister.  The lady sitting on the ground directly in front of Elizabeth Gamble Vaughan, is Aunt "Lil.  These are all James C.' children.

As for the rest of the clan, I haven't the slightest clue as to who they are but one thing is for certain is that the Vaughans do sure look alike!

Joyce Tip Box -- December 2007 -
If you are not navigating this Tri-Counties Site via the left and right sidebars of the Current What's New page you are doing yourself a disservice. You can get to any place on the site easily by making yourself familiar with these subject and place topics. Try them all to be as familiar with the site's 16,000 plus pages as you can. Stop groping in the dark and take the lighted path. That's also the only way you'll find the search engines for the site or have access to the necessary messages I may leave for you. Make it easy on yourself.
