142. Last Wills of Guy Wells
In the name of Gods amen I Guy Wells of Wyalusing in the county of Bradford and commonwealth of Pennsylvania being of sound mind and memory do make and ordain this to be my last will and testaments. To my beloved wife, Elizabeth I give and bequeath one Horse, two Cows, ten Sheep, and one third of all the household furniture of which I may die in possesion of -Together with the sole care of all the rest until my youngest son Guy Wells Jr. may arrive at the age of Twenty one years. Also one equal undivided third part of the farm of Land on which I now reside to be at her sole disposal together with the upper rooms of the distillery House in which I now reside and the lower Barn to be hers during the time of her natural life and then to revert to my two youngest sons William Sterling and Guy Jr. To my two older sons Chester Wells and Levi Wells having given them as much as would be their share of all my property I cannot now make any considerable additions to their portion To them I bequeath the sum of ten dollors each to be paid as shall be hereafter directed
To my daughters Elizabeth Buck, Mercy Camp, Hannah Graves and Sophia Ackley I give and bequeath the sum of one hundred dollors to each and every one of them to be paid in neat? stock, and should my decease take place before Guy Wells Junior should arrive at the age of twenty one years then to be paid at the time he should arrive at that age or sooner if convenient for William Sterling and Guy Jr to pay the same who are to pay also to Hannah Graves and Sophia Ackley one good womans saddle each in addition to the above.
To my son Perrin Wells I give and bequeath the sum of three hundred dollars to be paid in case of my decease previous to that time when William Sterling shall arrive at the age of twenty one years out of the proceeds of my Estate.
To my two youngest sons William Sterling Wells and Guy Wells Junior I give and bequeath two equal thirds of the farm and which I now reside after the expiration of the present lease of said farm to Levi Wells (should my decease take place beore that time) together with the Buildings not enumerated in the part given to my wife Elizabeth also all the stock of which I may die possesion of not enumerated as above and all debts that may be due me from my son Levi Wells on condition of their paying the Legacy to Chester Wells, Levi Wells, Elizabeth Buck, Mercy Camp, Hannah Graves Sophia Ackley and Perrin Wells in manner and form as specified above and pay all debts which may be due from me at my decease, in all the property above named they are to share equal and I do hereby appoint my wife Elizabeth Wells, Chester Wells and Justus Lewis to be the executors of this my last will and testament to settle the Estate in manner and form as is herein above stated. In testimony where of I have hereunto set my hand and seal this tenth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty eight.
Guy Wells signed and sealed in presance of John Keeler and Justus Lewis.
Elizabeth Wells, Chester Wells and Jusuts Lewis ex'ors of Guy Wells deceased. Probate received and letters of testamentary granted to Elizabeth Wells Chester Wells and Justus Lewis of Bradford Co executors of the foregoing will this 9th day of February A.D. 1829. They having been duly sworn well and truly to administer said estate exhibit a true inventory and render a just account of their said administrations according to law. Given under the seal of the Registers Office this 9th day of Feb'y AD 1829--Inventory filed 5th Mar AD 1829.
