Pat Wainwright submitted a listing she ran across, undated and unsigned.
This listing was on the site years ago but for some reason that page
evaporated. Thanks to Pat for resubmitting it.
Location: 7/10ths of a mile from intersection of Rte.13 and Old Ithaca
Rd., Horseheads, NY Chemung County
Other Comments: Across road is sign for Wygant Rd. & County Rte.

Pat Wainwright - Visited this cemetery on a cold January day in 2007.
Number of broken stones maybe field stones. All stones listed here
were still standing. It was too cold to do a complete reading
of the stones.
Hello Joyce,
I found it in an 1978 Tree Talk. There was no one's name attached
to it but there had been
someone listed as suppling the information in the previous Tree Talks.
Here is what was written for directions (my explanation of directions
are in ( )).
"Barbours Corners Cemetery, north of Elizabeth Inn, at the first corner
on the Ithaca Rd.
(This would have been the original Ithaca Rd when I was a kid, and
before the new/old Ithaca
road from Hanover Square in Horseheads. And way before route
13 by pass.)
I just checked in the Stavers book. Don't know why I didn't think
to look there sooner.
This book was originally owned by Lucille Rounds, a former Town of
Horseheads Historian, and a member of the Erin Historical Society.
Here are some additional facts from that book;
The cemetery was restored in 1931; markers mended; a fence built; a
tree planted in honor of Henry Bress, a Rev. soldier. A ceremony
was conducted by Officers of the D. A. R. and S. A. R.

Add to Henry's info--"also with Gen. Sullivan"; age at death-81 yrs.

Change on Ruth's info--says 19 days instead of 18 days
Add to Hosea--Rachel, his wife d. Feb 23, 1853, aged 64y 7m 26d (stone
may have broken as she is not listed on the list I sent you.)
Rev. Moses P.--stone broken
Abraham W. death age 2y 4m 4d
McConnell, Lorensa (handwritten "Alonzo")
Handwritten in has both Mathew age 20, and William on same stone.
William's age is 20 and not 30.
Treat, Jairus--age is listed "In 66 year of his life"
Ruth, his wife, d. Dec 5, 1867. aged 74y 5m 28d
James S.--age 18y 11m 23d
Our mother (handwritten--Mary Brees Wood), in her 77 year (Handwritten
erected by her son, A. Wood)

searching for our roots.
