? Mrs. Hattie RUSSELL
April 2005 - Note - Joyce,
The other day while doing research at the Bradford County Library, I found
this; Mrs Hattie Russell, her funeral was at the Maryott Bowen
Funeral Home, interment was in the Pail Factory cemetery. Pallbearers
were Nathaniel McNeal, George Harford, Albert Fenton, Harold Federick, John
Herman and Donald Strope. The Daily Review 5/9/1951. I would have
taken greater care with the details had I known she wouldn't be mentioned as
being buried there. Reva Wagner
Dear Joyce
I Hope you received my info on my Great Grandfathers service during the civil
war. I have some additional info but I'm not quite sure where to send it.
My great grandfather Jackson Alexander was married times , to two sets of
sisters; The first was Sally Coolbaugh and the next was her sister Elizabeth.
He then married Delight Wiggins. They all died before he was 30 years old . He
married Delight's sister Abigail after Delight's death. He and Abigail were
married for 36 years. Now the info is Sally, Elizabeth and Delight
are buried in the Pail Factory Cemetery side by side but they do not have any
gravestones and are not listed on the registry. I know this from a deposition
that was given when Abigail was trying to surviors benefits. Also Abigail who
died in 1912 was buried beside Jackson in Luthers Mills cemetery does not have
a gravestone and is not on the registry. Who should I give this info to,
so that they can be registered for those cemeteries?
Thank you for your time
Glenn Alexander
Hi Joyce, [March 2007]
Last September 3, 2006, my husband and I made a visit to Pail Factory Cemetery.
To our surprise we found the grave of my husbands great grandfather James H.
Wiggins 8/3/1840-10/23/1883 he was a Civil War vet in the 50 NY Engineers Co.
B. His grave is not listed on your list of Pail Factory Cemetery interments. We
did find also Rena Maroa Wiggins. We did not find Margaret Delight Wiggins or
Abigail her sister only their husband Jackson Alexander. Sending an attachment
of the Wiggins graves.
Best Regards,
Pat and Ralph Wiggins

COON - Marshall Coon, 71 years old, a life long resident of North Towanda died at his home at that place yesterday of an illness of less than one week. Death was due to heart trouble. The death of Mr. Coons removes from the township the last of a family of seven children, of one of the most pominent families of the township. A lover of nature, Mr. Coon always found keen enjoyment on his farm in the Sugar Creek Valley, in the birds and flowers and was kindness to all animals. He was a conscientious man, a firm friend and a loyal citizen. He is survived by several neices and nephews. The funeral service will be held at the house Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock and interment will be made in the Pail Factory cemetery. RHW. Towanda Daily Review 12 Feb 1918.
STROPE - Daily Review March 26, 1926 WAR VETERAN, 81, CALLED BY DEATH Nathaniel Strope, 81 years of age and avetern of the Civil War, died Wednesday night at the home of his son, Levi, on Kendall Hill. He is survived by his wife and nine children as follows: Mrs Anna Hall of Riggs; Mrs. May McNeal of Towanda; Mrs. Minnie Parks of Ithica; Rachel Strope of Elmira; Mrs Nellie McNeal, Overshot; Levi of Kendall Hill; Alfred of Athens and George of Overshot. The deceased was a member of the Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry, and served in CO. H. of that regiment. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock in the Pail Factory school house and burial will be in the Pail Factory cemetery. Sandy Reeves-Vanderpool email svpool@sosbbs.com
