MOSHERVILLE CEMETERY
WELLS TOWNSHIP BRADFORD COUNTY, PA.
Located in Wells Township, Bradford County, Pennsylvania
in the village of Mosherville, formerly known as French Mills and Wells
before adopting the name Mosherville. Oldest dated marker found was 1813
for William Keyes who is related to have been the first death of an adult
in the township, but documentation is lacking to substantiate this claim.
Elizabeth Wright wife of Shubel Rowley is related to have died Apr 7, 1813
her place of interment in the township unknown. Many plain field stones
are in the oldest section laying flat and bearing no inscriptions, which
may indicate the resting place of some of the earliest settlers. Markers
copied July 1977 and rechecked in Apr and July 1979 by J. Kelsey Jones.
Single spacing of type indicates those individuals appearing on one marker.
Anything appearing in parenthesis is added information by the compiler
for clarification and does not appear on the marker.
