The top photo appears to be the earliest and is labelled "Landon 1935. |
The bottom one appears to be later and also a bit larger. On the back: "Cedar Ledge Service Station. On Route 14, 1 Mi. So. of Canton, Pa. Gas, Oil, Tires, Batteries and Complete Line of Groceries and Meats." |
This card is postmarked Dec. @3, 1936
"ROCKVIEW FILLING STATION Leolyn, Pa. 31 miles North of Williamsport, Pa, 7 miles south of Canton, Pa., on Route 14 Free picnic Grounds. Home made pies. Lunches. J. M. Shaffer, Proprietor. Telephone 143 R5" |
"SHAFFER'S" 7 miles south of Canton, Pa., Route No. 14
This later became "Art and Mary's" I think this is also in Tioga (or Sullivan) County |

"Our House Restaurant and Gift Shop
R.D. 1. (Grover), Canton, PA 17724 Weddings, Banquets, Parties - Ph. (717) 673-8855 A family restaurant famous for real home-made meals, breads and pastries, and a salad bar filled with 'goodies' fresh from our own kitchen. OUR HOUSE is located on Rt. 14 mid-way between Williamsport and Elmira deep in the scenic Endless Mountains of N.E.PA. Open 6:30 am and serving three meals (except Mon.)" This was owned and operated by Gerald (I think) Avery. After his
death his daughter ran it for a while, then it became McArdles which has
now ceased to operate.
