Hi there -
I ran across your web page on the 1890 Charles Lee London Circus and thought that I would make a few comments.
The earliest date for the use of the Charles Lee's London Show title is 1886 as the show played at Hagerstown, Maryland May 20 to 22, Greencastle. Pa on May 24, and Chambersburg, Pa on May 25 & 26.
In 1887 the show played Macon, Georgia from Feb. 10 to 12, Roanoke, Va from March 30 to April 1, and Staunton, Va. April 21 to 23
The title was active in 1888 as Charles Lee's Great London 10 cent Railroad Shows
In 1889 the show opened May 11 or 13 at Canton, Pa.
Thanks for the 1890 route as I had no references on it that year.
I have route from 1891 to 1897 and from 1901 and 1902. Most of these are from the New York Clipper a weekly publication of theatrical and circus news and it included some route information. I can xerox my reference cards and send them to you if I get an address to send them to. Please advise.
