In 2005 the Bradford County Heritage Association (Troy Farm Museum) acquired the old merchant's building to house their new collection of antique carriages. The building had to be moved to the Heritage Association grounds next to the Troy Fair Grounds (Alparon Park). Janet PETERS Ordway sent in the photos of the building being moved. Below are photos of some of those carriages taken by Joyce in September 2003 when they were on display in another building. We are so very pleases that the BCHA was able to obtain this carriage collection., it is a powerful display af any kind of conveyance you ever heard of - well worth a trip to Troy to see
Note from Janet: The merchant's building was located in the lower area of Alparon Park near the swimming pool. Used every year by the Troy Fair for vendors. This building was going to be torn down until BCHA requested the building which was later donated to BCHA. The Monday after Memorial Day this 125' building was moved by Dzuiba & Sons to it's current location near the Farm Museum. It is said to be the longest building they have moved. It took approximatly 8 hours to move up across the track to it's location. (A dart inside the building on the ceiling was still intact after it was set on pillars.).
