Advertising the General Store at Elk Run
Solomon Lemuel Wood, a Civil War veteran, ran the general store at Elk
Run (formerly Chandlersburg, presently Bungy) in Sullivan
Township, Tioga County PA. It was located at "center" Elk Run,
near where the main road crosses the creek. Following is a large postcard
sized advertisement from his store. Both the front and back of the card
are shown. This card was found in the memorabilia of Mildred Mudge, grandmother
of Joyce M. Tice. Mildred's grandmother, Mary Wood was sister to Solomon.
