Clare E. Clark of Deerfield |

Clare E. Clark was born in Knoxville, Pa. on March 12, 1874, the son of Elias H. Clark & Marietta Close Clark. He was married to Alice Mae Hurlbutt in Knoxville, Pa. on Sept. 12, 1894. The couple also resided in Williamsport, Mills, and Ulysses, before settling in Coudersport, Pa. in 1909.
Clare Clark was a clerk in the U.S. Mail service for 30 years and for several years owned and operated Clark’s Greenhouse in Coudersport. Children born to Clare and Alice Mae (known as “Mae’) were: Beatrice (married William Blank), born Sept. 8, 1896, Howard (married Dorothy I. Perkins), born May 10, 1900, and Gordon (born circa 1911).
After an illness of several years, Clare E. Clark died in Coudersport
on November 17. 1944. Four brothers, Byron L., Cecil A., Rae E., Horton
E., and one sister, Rosamond M. Walker, survived him. He was buried in
Eulalia Cemetery, Coudersport, Pa.
