This is a transcription of the "Will and Testament of David Stage" of Town of Chemung, Chemung County, NY by Pat SMITH Raymond
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK. To Elizabeth Stage, Christopher Stage, John Stage, Phillip Stage and Blameless Stage, residing in the town of Chemung, county of Chemung and state of New York, Sarah wife of Elias Impson, residing in the county of Erie in the state of New York, Harriet Stage, Hector Stage and Martha Stage, residing in the town of Chemung, aforesaid, Elizabeth Griswold residing in the state of Michigan, and Peter G. Van Der Lyn of Elmira, special guardian of Peter Griswold of the state of Michigan, and of Elizabeth Stage and Eleanor Stage, who reside in Southport, Chemung county, the said Peter, Elizabeth and Eleanor last named being under twenty-one years of age, and having no general guardian; the widow, heirs and next of kin of David Stage deceased, send greeting.

Whereas, George Lowman of the county of Chemung, has lately applied to our surrogate of the said county, to have a certain instrument in writing relating to both real and personal estate, duly proved as the last will and testament of David Stage late of the county of Chemung, deceased, therefore, you and each of you are cited to appear before our said surrogate at his office in the said county, on the first Monday of August next, at ten o’clock in the forenoon of that day, then and there to attend to the probate of the said last will and testament.

In testimony whereof, the surrogate of our said county has hereunto affixed his seal of office, the twenty-fifth day of May, one thousand eight hundred and fifty-two.
