It's ALL About Spring Today
|
The Easter Bunny showed up early under my lilac, too relaxed to
be frightened of me. And to think I already bought some fake bunny ornaments
for the garden when this one would have done just as well. I hope she doesn't
like basil. |

The Coltsfoot checks in as the first wildflower to show itself. |
At right the new garden is tilled. After 25 years of rock
and hard pan in New York State, which nearly cured me of gardening,
I hardly know how to handle this rich Pennsylvania rockless loam. It's
just like the soil they show us on garden shows. What a surprise. Those
seven little stones on the mat are ALL I found. Maybe I can enjoy gardening
again. |

The 3 inch tall miniature daffodils are, as always, the first garden
flower to bloom |

Inside the house, seedlings wait optimistically in the window |
