In the same cemetery where I found the above marker, I also found
three or four more like it each commemorating a scout in his teens who
died in the 1920s.I have also found one to a scoutmaster in another county
which I am aslo including here. It is a more recent one.The Boy Scount
Member flagholders are not common. I have found them in only three cemeteries
out of hundreds visited so far, and they all seem to date from the 1920s
and 1930s.

Several of these, mounted on crosses, were found in a
State of Maine cemetery Sept. 2000. |
