LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT, #1147, of John Ford deceased) Bradford County, Pennsylvania, written on 23 May 1851, Probate received 12 March 1857 and final inventory filed 6 April 1857:

In the name of God Amen, I John Ford, of Pike township in the County of Bradford and State of Pennsylvania do make and ordain this to be my last will and testament in Manner and from following(Court?), I give and bequeath to Sarah Ford my beloved Wife, one good horse and one good cow to be selected by any Executors hereinafter named. Also the new harness and wagon I now____ and also the household furniture consisting of beds and bedding, chairs and tables and all other goods and properties and about my house of whatever nature or kind for the purpose of housekeeping, all of which is to be her own property absolutely forever. I also give and bequeath to my said Wife Sarah Ford the use of my lot and house and outbuildings where I now reside containing seventeen acres of land to be used and controlled by her for her support and comfort so long as she shall remain my widow, but in case she should marry or at her decease, I will and bequeath to my Son Alpheus C. Ford, the aforesaid Seventeen acres and with the appurtenances thereunto belonging together with all other ____personal property of which I may die ______And I further direct that in the event of his death of my Son Alpheus C Ford or previous to my death or that of his Mother, the aforesaid Sarah Ford, I hereby give and bequeath the use of the personal and real estate willed to my said Son Alpheus C. Ford to my Wife for and during the time of her natural life or so long as she shall remain my Widow. It is my will further that of the household furniture which I have given to my beloved wife as aforesaid that when it may come to pass that my Son Alpheus shall marry that his Mother shall furnish him with two beds and bedding and that he may have an equal privilege in the Barn Wagon house and other outbuildings with his Mother. And lastly I do hereby appoint Stephen Brink and John A. Codding Executors of this my last wil and testament. In testimony whereby I have hereunto set my hand and Seal the twenty third day of May One Thousand Eight hundred and fifty one.

Letters testamentery upon the Estate of John Ford late of Pike declared granted to Stephen Brink, he having been first duly sworn to well and truly administer upon said estate according to law. Given under my hand and official Seal of the Register at Towanda the 13th day of March AD 1857 Same day March 13th 1857 renunciation of John A. Codding filed. Inventory filed April 6th 1857. 


Last Will and Testament #1884, p. 280 of Bradford County, Pennsylvania for John Bowman Ford, Late of Pike.

I, John B. Ford of Pike Township in the County of Bradford and State of Pennsylvania in being weak of body but of sound  and disposing memory mind and understanding do make and publish this my last will and testament hereby _____? and making void all former wills ____anytime heretofore made.

First.  I order and direct that all my just debts, funeral expenses and  proving this will be fully paid and satisfied.
Second.  I order and direct that my body be directly interred in the family burying ground on the farm where I now live and that my funeral be conducted in a manner corresponding with my estate and situation in life.
And as to such Estate as it hath ____ God to entrust me with I dispose of the same as follows:
Item--I give and bequeath to my beloved Wife, Sarah J. Ford, all my household, One Cow, Six Sheep and all the fowls belonging to me now on the premises to be hers absolute immediately after my demise and one thousand dollars in money to be paid her out of my property within two years after my decease with interest on the same from my decease until paid to her and to hold this same to her and to her heirs and _____ forever.
Item -- I give and bequeath to may sister, Cordelia A. Ford, the Sum of one hundred and fifty dollars to be paid her out of my Estate within five years after my decease.
Item I give and bequeath to my sister, Emma J. Ford, the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars to be paid her out of my Estate within Seven years after my decease.
Item --I give and bequeath to my Brother, W. S. Ford, the Sum of five hundred dollars to be paid him out of my Estate within five years after my decease.
Item -- I give and bequeath to my honored Mother, Amanda Ford, the use of our ____(home?) so long as She shall live and at her decease, the same to ___ to my Brother James M. Ford absolute, and I also order and direct that my honored Mother shall have and the same rights and privileges she now enjoys in my house and about my premises so long as she shall live.  I also order and direct______bequeathed for the use of my Mother shall be kept the premises where I now live free of charge or expense to her.
Item -- I give and bequeath to my Brother James M. Ford all  of the rest residue and          remainder of all my personal property Book and notes moving rights and credits of whatsoever name or kind and Also all my real estate wherever situated or found after payment of all the foregoing gifts and bequests, debts and kinship liens that now stand against me.
Further--it is my desire and request that my brother James M. Ford shall retain and keep possession of the homestead down where I now live and not suffer it into strangers hands.
Lastly -- I appoint my esteemed friend, G. W. Brink, to be the Executor of this my last will and testament----In witness whereof I the Said Testator, John B. Ford, have to this my last will and testament set my hand and seal this 27th day of April AD 1866.

WILL AND TESTAMENT OF John Ford, late of Pike Township deceased  #2060 Bradford County, PA:

In the name of God Amen--I John Ford of Pike Township, Bradford County and State of Pennsylvania being sick and weak in body, but of sound and deposing mind, memory and understanding (praised be God for it) considering the certainty of death, and the uncertainty of the time thereof, and to the end date I may be better prepare to leave this world, whenever it pleases God to call me hence do therefore make and declare this my last will and Testament, in manner following (that is to say)
First and principally I commit my soul into the hands of my Creator who gave it and my body to the Earth to be interred in the burying ground near Wm B. Stevens: and that my funeral to be conducted in a manner corresponding with my estate and situation in life:  As to such estate as it hath pleased God to interest me with I dispose of the same as follows That is to say:  I order and direct that all my just debts, funeral expenses and charges of burying? items my will be in the first place fully paid and satisfied: And after payment thereof, and every part thereof:
 I give and bequeath to my beloved wife, Sarah Ford, the use, improvement, occupancy and income of all my household furniture in my dwelling house, and all my real estate to have and to hold the same for and during her natural life, or so long as she remains my widow and then to be divided equally among my children, hereafter named except Charles W. Ford:  Whatever other property I may have at the time of my decease, whether ___ personal or mixed?, I give, devise and bequeath as follows:  First, I give and bequeath to my youngest son, Charles W. Ford the sum of two hundred dollars to be paid ____ by my Executor out of my personal property within one year after my decease:  All the rest ____ and remainder of all my property of whatever name or Kind I give and bequeath as follows:  To my son, Nelson Ford: My daughter Ellen, intermarried with N. W. Pierce:  My daughter, Martha Ann, intermarried with M. S. Prentis:  My daughter, Phebe A., intermarried with W. S. Ellsworth, My daughter, Malvina A. intermarried with M. H. Edsell, My son George R. Ford and Mary Ann Abbott, wife of Collins B. Abbott, all to share and share alike.  The share of real and personal estate herein division?? and bequeathed to my wife to be in lieu of her dower at common law:  Lastly, I appoint my ____ friend, G. W. Brink, to be the Executor of this may last will and Testament:  In witness whereof I the said Testator, John Ford, have in this my last will and testament, set my hand and seal, this 18th day of April AD 1868
