DEED: 16 January 1828 - Joshua Lamphere to Silvester G. Andrus
Know all men by deed + presents that I Joshua Lamphere of Wysox Township
county of Bradford and state of Pennsylvania carpenter for and in consideration
of the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars Lawful money of the United
States To me in hand paid Before the signing of these presents the receipt
whereof is hereby acknowledged do hereby assigns [sic] and set over release
and confirm unto Sylvester G. Andrus of Wysox afforesaid Merchant the one
equal forth part of a certain sawmill on the Wysox creek and next above
and near the state road Bridge the equal forth part of which I claim and
own By virtue of Labor done as master Builder of said mill under faith
in the contract as aforesaids to him the said Andrus his heirs and assigns
to their own proper use and behalf Together with all the Privileges and
appurtenances There unto Belonging and against all lawful claims of all
and any other persons or person By from or under me I hereby covenant to
warrant and defend In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed
my seal this sixteenth day of January AD one thousand eight hundred and
twenty eight Joshua Lamphere [mark for signature] witness present Nathl.
Chubback Wm. H. Bell witness Bradford county __ Be it known that on the
sixteenth day of April AD 1829 Before me Wilber Ben___ esq one of the Justices
of the Peace in and for the said county Personally came William Bell one
of the subscribing witnesses to the above Ind___ and Being duly sworn ___
___ his ___that He the said William Bell one of the subscribing witness
to the above Ind___ was present and d___ the above named Joshua Lamphere
sign and seal and as his acts and deeds ___ the said Ind___ and that the
said Wm Bell did Thereupon subscribe his name as a witness to the same
in testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal The day and year
above written Wilber Ben__ J. P. [symbol for signature]
