ACT OF FEBRUARY 6th, 1907.

DECLARATION FOR PENSION

STATE OF Pennsylvania COUNTY OF Tioga, ss:

On this 15 day of May, A. D., one thousand nine hundred and twelve personally appeared before me a _______ within and for the county and State aforesaid Philander Bockus, who being duly sworn according to law, declares that he is 70 years of age, and a resident of Charleston Twp., county of Tioga, State of Penna; and that he is the identical person who was Enrolled at Wellsboro Pa under the name of Philander Bockus, on the 7 day of Feby 1864, as a private in Co. "A", 187th Regt. Pa. Infty, Vols in the service of the United States, in the civil war, and was honorably discharged at Harrisburg Pa., on the 3 day of August, 1865.

That he was not employed in the military or naval service of the United States otherwise than as stated above. That his personal description at enlistment was as follows: Height, 5 feet 5 inches; complexion fair; color of eyes, blue; color of hair, brown that his occupation was farmer; that he was born April 24, 1842, at Tioga Co., Pa.

That his several places of residence since leaving the service have been as follows: always in Charleston Twp., Tioga Co. Pa

That he is ___ a pensioner on Certificate No. 569,133 at the rate of $12.00 per month.

That he makes this declaration for the purpose of being placed on the pension roll of the United States under the provisions of the act of February 6, 1907, and May 11, 1912.

That his postoffice address is Wellsboro, county of Tioga State of Pa. R.F.D. 8

Also personally appeared John W. English, residing in Wellsboro, Pa. And Robert Satterly, residing in ame place, persons whom I certify to be respectable and entitled to credit, and who, being by me duly sworn, say that they were present and saw Philander Bockus, the claimant, sign his name (or make his mark) to the foregoing declaration; that they have every reason to believe, from the appearance of the claimant and their acquaintance with him of 30 years and 30 years, respectively, that he is the identical person he represents himself to be, and that they have no interest in the prosecution of this claim.
