Personally came before me, a Notary Public in and for aforesaid County and State Wm. F. Newell aged * years, resides at Troy Bradford Co. Pa, Post Office address Troy, Pa.
For the five years preceding my enlistment to the army I resided at Aspinwalls Corners, Columbia Tp., Bradford Co., Pa. – Then in Sullivan Tp., Tioga Co., Pa. – Then Rutland Tp., Tioga Co., Pa. – Then to Troy, Bradford Co., Pa. Since discharged from the Army have resided in all of above places mostly in Troy, Pa.
From 1858 up to my enlistment, I worked at farming and I have worked at farming mostly since my discharge. My disability first appeared about October 1862 – troubles with lungs, liver and kidneys – have had coughs & by times sweat profusely with pain in the side – restless unable to turn over in bed unless assisted – with painful urinating pains. Dr. Anawalt treated me in the Army. In consequence of the Company papers being burned can’t get his affidavit. The comp’s papers were burned at Washington.
C.C. Hooker Alba, Pa and A.K. Aiptell Troy, Pa and E.G. Tracy Troy, Pa have attended me.
I have been bothered with lungs, kidney and liver difficulty ever since incurred it in the Army. I have worked at farming and day laborer. Ever since discharge from the Army it has prevented my working more or less until now cannot do more than half the time a full days work and at notime without difficulty and in pain.
I further declare that I have an interest in said case and am interested in its prosecution.

Hello Joyce,
Attached is an MS Word file containing a brief bio of William F. Newell and two informative pension documents. Also attached is a JPG file of a decorative letterhead on a pension increase notification from the U.S. Dept. of the Interior.
According to the Bradford County Tax Assessment Records, William Newell owned a farm in Armenia Township from 1859 until 1869. The 1860 census records also place him at Armenia. It's very curious that he neglects to mention Armenia in his pension affidavit, although he mentions Sullivan, Rutland, Columbia and Troy townships that all surround Armenia. I think the correct Tri-Counties township for his pension records is Armenia Township.
