Last Will &
Testament
of
Wanton Westgate
This last will and testament of Wanton Westgate of the town of Burlington, Bradford Co. Pennsylvania - First tis my will that my wife Betsy shall have the farm the cattle & horse and all the farming utensils. The wagons sleds chains hoes axes and all tools belonging to the farm & that she shall have all the outstanding debts due me from every persons and that she shall pay all my honest debts that remain unpaid, & tis my will that (she) shall have the hay at Beriah Pratts and Jacob Fullers and all the household stuff of every description beds bedding chairs tables chest dishes trunks bedsteads stands ironware kettle pots tea kettle and all other cooking utensils tubbs barrels pails crockery ware and every article belonging to the house also all the harnesses plows chains dray leather chests andirons shovels & tongs charts books of every description which belong to my library. (Shingly?) grindstone my wearing apparel hat shoes & clothing every article of clothing bedding household stuff of all description from a canlid to a ball of yarn - The children I would wish to have disposed of in the (as this?). Ezra (?) Clark shall be entitled to five dollars one year after my decease if applied for, John Taber (?) also shall have five dollars one year after my decease if applied for, Allis Church shall be also entitled to twenty dollars one year after my decease if applied for, Admiral T. Westgate shall be entitled to all the blacksmith tools within four weeks after my decease if called for. John T. Westgate shall have five dollars one year after my decease if called for, Harriette Burgess shall be entitled to two dollars if called for within one year from my decease. All the property of any description whether farming utensils household stuff or whatever it may be which belongs to in my lifetime Betsy Westgate my widow shall be entitled to so long as she shall remain my widow. After that whatever property should remain shall fall to the two youngest Samuel H. & Orrin B. to remain theirs forever. Jonathan C. & William W. shall each of them be put to good and suitable places for to learn trades at a suitable age & to have five dollars apiece when of age. It shall be the duty of my widow (to) attend to this business & also to be one of my executors to settle my estate.
