Dear Joyce--

My name is Bill Barron and my father (James Edmund Barron) and his father (also James Edmund) grew up in Towanda PA.  In fact, my grandmother's mother (Margaret (Roche) Ronan) lived to the age of 102 in the Barkclay/Towanda area.

I've attached a photograph of the graduating class of 1902 from St. Agnes High School in Towanda, PA which you may wish to add to your Turn of the Century page. This was the 3rd class to graduate from the 'new' 10-year school system.

Shown in the photo:
 1. Standing at left -- Mary Bridget 'X' Kitty Ronan; my grandmother. She married James Edmund Barron, shown below
 2. Seated at left -- James Edmund Barron; my grandfather. He married Kitty (above) and moved to Shattuck OK where he was a collector for the John Deere Co. He was purportedly gunned down in the streets of Wichita KS in 1918; at which time the family moved back to Towanda and lived with my gg-grandmother, Margaret Roche Ronan at the family home @ 31 Mechanic St.
 3. Standing at right-- Emily Barron; James's sister. Emily was known to have been a clerk at the Guarantee State Bank in Shattuck OK abt. 1918. She married a Mr. Frank Jones (no data).
 4. Seated at right -- Mr. Daniel Cullivan (Culliman?) -- not a 'Barron' relative to my knowledge.
