One day, he found two old train photographs behind a picture frame at the Canton Station. Both photos are dated 10 Feb 1893 and the photos show a Northern Central Railroad snowplow being pushed by at least five steam locomotives. One of the photos was taken looking south; you can see the large snowplow on the lead locomotive and to the right of the locomotive is the passenger station, at Canton. The person taking the photo was probably standing just north of the old passenger station which is now gone. The other photo was taken looking north; you can see the steam clouds from five or six locomotives as they push the snowplow in the direction of Troy. The locomotives pictured are American D-class, probably D-14, and they have a 4-4-0 wheel configuration. These locomotives were manufactured in the late 19th century and early 20th century. The locomotives in the photo were owned by the Northern Central Railroad (NCRR) which was taken over by the Pennsylvania Railroad about 1913. Paul E. Newell
