Seymour S. Squires lived from 1848 to 1913. On October 8, 2008 we publish a few generations of his famly history in Ahnentafel Format to commemorate the 160th anniversary of his birth.. [Ahnentafel lists a person as number one - father as double that number and mother as double plus one.

1 Seymore S. Squires #3229

Seymore was born 08 OCT 1848 in Sullivan Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania. He married Alice VanNess. Seymore was listed in a directory in Rutland Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania 1899. Squire Seymour S, r 43, dairy, 11 cows, wool grower, 40 sheep, farmer, leases of George Van Ness, 108 acres

Seymore was listed as the head of a family on the 1900 Census in Rutland Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania. Seymore died 1913 at age 64. His body was interred 1913 in Gray Valley Cemetery, Sullivan Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania.

Judson was born 07 DEC 1815 in Connecticut. Other records give 23 Dec 1815 as birthdate, but this is taken from his own Bible record.

He married Permelia York 01 MAR 1836 in Madison County, New York. Judson registered to pay taxes 1837 in Sullivan Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania. Four improved, and 46 wild acres of land, one cow.

Judson registered to pay taxes 1839 in Sullivan Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania. Fifty three wild acres, one cow, one bull.

Judson registered to pay taxes 1840 in Sullivan Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania. 52 wild acres of land, one cow.

Judson was listed as the head of a family on the 1840 Census in Sullivan Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania. Pamela and Judson were living with their first child, Eunice.

Judson registered to pay taxes 1841 in Sullivan Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania. Twelve improved, 41 wild acres of land, two oxen, one cow.

Judson registered to pay taxes 1842 in Sullivan Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania. Eight improved, 64 wild acres of land, one pair oxen, one cow.

Judson registered to pay taxes 1845 in Sullivan Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania. 38 acres wild land, 6 improved acres, one horse, one cow.

He married Huldah L. Unknown (Squires) 27 SEP 1847 in Sullivan Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania. Married by Rev. Myron Rockwell of Sullivan

In the Census of 1850, Judson was listed as a head of household in Sullivan Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania. Judson was with wife Huldah in 1850 census. Esther was also present in Household 254 for this census.

Judson was listed as the head of a family on the 1860 Census in Sullivan Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania. Judson was listed as the head of a family on the 1870 Census in Sullivan Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania. He married Catherine Unknown (Squires) 25 JUN 1871 in Roseville, Rutland Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania. Married by Daniel Watson of Roseville

Judson was listed as the head of a family on the 1880 Census in Sullivan Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania. Burrell Coon, listed as father in law can not be father of Catherine who was born in Germany and whose parents were born in Germany. Burrell was b. in Rhode Island. May be father of second wife, Huldah, whose surname is not known and who died in 1869. Catherine Squires is double counted in Jackson Township household of Walter Updyke as housekeeper. Needs investigation and is clue to her identity. Previous marriage may have been Belknap or Stooks???

Judson was listed in a directory in Sullivan Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania 1899. Judson died 4 AUG 1900 in Sullivan Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania, at age 84. Mention of death and date in Marietta COOLEY Strange scrapbook: Mr. Judson Squires died at his home after a short illness, Saturday, August 4, aged 86 years.

His body was interred 7 AUG 1900 in Gray Valley Cemetery, Sullivan Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania.

3 Huldah L. Unknown (Squires) #3221

Huldah was born 11 MAY 1825 in New York. She married Judson Squires 27 SEP 1847 in Sullivan Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania. Married by Rev. Myron Rockwell of Sullivan

Huldah died 15 MAY 1869 in Sullivan Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania, at age 44. Her body was interred MAY 1869 in Gray Valley Cemetery, Sullivan Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania.

4 Aaron Squires #670

Flags: Newspaper.

Aaron was born 1780 in Connecticut. He married Eunice Godfrey BEF 1798. Aaron registered to pay taxes 1812 in Columbia Township, Bradford County, Pennsylvania. Bradford County was formed 1812-13. This list from Heverly, Vol 2, p, 199-200 includes the first taxables. The earliest version of Columbia township included parts of the later Troy township. Solomon and Anna settled in area now called Baptist Hill.

Aaron died 1818 in Rutland Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania, at age 38. Aaron registered to pay taxes 1829 in Columbia Township, Bradford County, Pennsylvania. Aaron Squire, (Dec'd) listed with daughter Marietta age 8 listed with Poor Children. - Probalby should have been listed under Eunice. See Bradford County History page 289 for Squires with similar names such as Sturgis and Reuben. An 189x newspaper report describes the Squires Reunion of the descendants of Aaron and Eunice.

5 Eunice Godfrey #669

Eunice was born 16 NOV 1783 in Westport, Fairfield County, Connecticut. She married Aaron Squires BEF 1798. Eunice was listed as the head of a family on the 1820 Census in Columbia Township, Bradford County, Pennsylvania. Eunice was in Columbia for the 1820 census with one male under 10 (Justus), one female under ten (Marietta), two females 10-16 one of whom was Caroline, age ten.

Eunice was listed as the head of a family on the 1850 Census in Sullivan Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania. Listed as Eunice Topkins with grandaughter Hester [Esther
