was burned to death. There were two children in the house, the oldest of
which threw paper into the stove and the younger one in pulling it out
set fire to its clothes and was so badly burned that it died on the following
morning. |

Peninsula before Richmond disease came upon him after causing him months
of suffering has laid him low. Four days before his death he was brought
home by his father to die. |

behalf of his country, prior to emigrating to this county-- having served
in the war of 1812 as Captain. In 1816 he emigrated to Tioga county from
Schoharie, N.Y. and settled in the township of Middlebury, where he remained
until 1843, when he removed to Sycamore, Ill., where he resided until his
death. |
