George C. and Phebe Shumway Rossiter
Family Bible

The Rossiters came from New Jersey. They settled in Potter County lived on the Sheldon (Sheldon Farm) in Hebron Township about four miles from Coudersport, Potter County, Pa.

This Bible is the property of George and Phebe Rossiter bought February the 12th 1828.

H.and E. Phinney’s Stereotype Edition The Holy Bible containing the Old and New Testaments: Translated out of The Original Tongues, and with The Former Translations Diligently Compared and Revised with Canne’s Marginal Notes and References to which are added an Index

Cooperstown, N.Y. Stereotyped Printed and Published by H. and E. Phinney and sold by them at their Bookstore, and by the Booksellers Generally in the United States. 1827.


George C. and Phebe Shumway Rossiter married the 19th day of September 1826

William and Sally Ann Elsabeth (Elisabeth) Ayers married the 29th day of December 1846

George K. and Phebe Ann Rossiter Hurlburt married the 12th day of October 1857

George V. and Mary Diremer Rossiter married Febru 23rd 1854

Their son William W. Rossiter and Kate M. Rennells married on Ayres Hill Pa by Rev. W.H. Reese Oct 24 1?00 ( the second digit is missing)

Their Dau Orpha Rossiter and Wm Reed married Coudersport Pa July 4th 1876 at Coudersport Penna by Wm Cole Justice of the Peace.

Sally Ann Elisabeth Rossiter born May the 9th 1828 Hebron Twp.

William W. Rossiter son of George Nelson and Mary Diremer Rossiter born Feb. 8th 1862

Orpha Rossiter born Feb. 21, 1865

A daughter born to Wm. and Kate M. Rossiter mch 27 1904 died at Birth

Elmina Eleanor Rossiter born Feb 19 1906

A son born June 19-1910 lived 14 days


Deaths:

George N. Rossiter died May 29th 1865 aged 31 years 10 months and 19 days

Phebe Rossiter Died April 25th 1886

Sally Ann Elizabeth Rossiter Thmpson (Thompson) Died October 25, 1907 aged 79yrs 5mo. 16 days

Mary Jane Deremer wife of George N. Rossiter died April 27, 1907 aged 66yrs. 8mo. 4 days

A Daughter born to William W. Rossiter and Kate M. Rennells his wife March 27 1904 Died at Birth

George William Rossiter Son of William w. and Kate M. his wife died July 3rd 1910 aged 14 days.
